HEDD – Analog Studio Monitors with Digital Minds
Welcome to HEDD | Heinz Electrodynamic Designs, a family business from Berlin, Germany. Founded by industry veteran Klaus Heinz and his son, mastering engineer and musicologist Dr. Frederik Knop, HEDD manufactures analog state-of-the-art studio monitors for all segments of music production, broadcast and installation. Our speaker designs are 100% analog, yet they incorporate some of the key advantages of digital signal optimization (HEDD Lineariser®) and connectivity. A modular system of input cards called the HEDD Bridge enables each of our Series ONE loudspeakers to handle digital audio protocols such as AES3/EBU and yes – even Dante and AES67 / Ravenna Network (Audio-over-IP). Please go ahead and get familiar with our pioneering products!
With the HEDD Lineariser® VST plugin, we have created a unique solution for one of the most challenging problems in loudspeaker designing: Linear Phase Response. The Lineariser® flattens both, the phase and frequency response of your HEDD monitors in unparalleled quality and without any DSP involved! Handcrafted in Berlin, the Air Motion Transformer is a fascinating tweeter design that was brought to the professional audio world by Klaus Heinz. Based on an invention by the German-American physicist Oskar Heil, this tweeter brings out the finest details in the high frequency range. Read more!
If you want more of your analog studio monitors, our flexible HEDD Bridge system will enable them to handle various digital audio protocols. On the back panel of every HEDD speaker there is a free card slot. Currently, we offer a 2-channel Dante card, turning your HEDD monitors into an Audio-over-IP device.
