White Noise

White noise is a term used in many different fields including Physics, Psychoacoustics, Statistics, Audio Technology, even Telecommunications. In the field of audio, white noise can be understood as a sound compiled of all frequencies represented at equal intensity / bandwith in a given frequency spectrum. It is used when measuring analog filters, acoustical properties of rooms, in listening tests (Psychoacoustics), Dithering as part of A/D conversions, and Synthesis.
